  • Sketch books
  • Inspiration Notebook- You don`t have to get that exact same one, but a notebook to funnel ideas to.
  • Sketching Pencils
  • Brush Pens in Black, Cool Gray 10 and Cool Gray 5, Red or deep pink
  • Software-Photoshop,Illustrator or Corel Painter X. Get the software in the last 30 days of the course.eBay will have cheaper ones!!
  • Genopal-A color tool that makes choosing color fantasticly easy! It`s based on a color theory that there are some colors that harmonize(Not complement)well with each other
  • A tablet- Either a Wacom Bamboo, Intuos2 or 3. eBay will have cheaper ones!!
  • A scanner or digital camera- To take pictures of your drawings.
  • Huey Color Monitor Calibration-Optional If you are serious about designing for the web and print, you must get this later.

  • Fashion Design Drawing Course
  • Pantone Guide to Communicating with Color-Optional-This book will be your best friend, if not your money maker!
  • An Introductions to Art Techniques-Buy this book ONLY if you plan to pursue your career on paper, but it is good for personal enrichment.

What I expect

  • Every night(Or every other night) I expect you to make a sketch. Why? Because you are able to see starting point and if there is any measurable improvement.
  • To use your idea notebook as a funnel. Consider ALL ideas, implement the best ones. Do not throw anything away. What doesn`t work now, will work later for something else.
  • I expect you to find a style, understand human proportions, funnel ideas and render the best ones, select a medium you feel most comfortable in, critique with kindess (yourself and others) and tune your eye for detail.
  • You can do this whole course on paper or on the pc, however, I expect you to start on paper.
  • You do not need to know how to draw, just have a desire to learn! I just don`t teach you how to draw, I teach you how to design.
  • An assignment should be handed in at the end of each unit. Either scan it, photograph it or if you are using a software, save it in its native format(PSD,AI,RIFF), in pdf and jpg. ALL THREE!
