- Print license required
Types of print
- Brocade is a pattern that is either engraved or embossed, with a highly contrasting background. In fabric is woven with heavy looped thread contrasting the fabric, sometimes against the grain, creating a raised effect.
- Damask is a elaborate flower pattern usually tone on tone or low contrasting color combination. In fabric, is woven evenly, sometimes inlaid with gold.
- Toile is a drawing depicting landscapes, family scenes, mythological creatures or even elements from nature. Although they are believed to have originated from France, they are found all over Europe and Asia. In fabric, a copper plate is made of the design, printed on solid fabric or canvas. It was sometimes woven evenly based on the design.
- Jacquard is a raised border. In fabric is a weaving technique invented by Joseph Marie Jacquard, utilizing paper punched cards containing the design desired. However the term is widely used to define anything woven.

When I first hired Elaine to design a logo for my boutique, I’m afraid I didn’t give her much to work with. I had absolutely NO clue what I wanted except that I wanted it to be feminine and reflect my personality. That’s about all I told her. That’s all I knew.
